December 20, 2014             Beginner Pen Turning

Cost $135.00

 Students will learn the basics of using a lathe and turn their first pen in this spindle turning class.  This is a great way to create a completely personal gift.  Engraving is available for completed work. (Additional cost for engraving)  Class size is limited, so reserve your spot today.

December 26, 2014             Boxing Day Class

1:00pm – 5:00pm

Cost $135

 Students will enjoy this spindle class creating a turned lidded box.  Although not a beginner course, students who have turned just a little will catch on quickly.  Students will take home their completed box.  Class size is limited, so reserve your spot today.

January 10, 2015                 Basic Turning

9:00am – 1:00pm

Cost $135.00

 This spindle turning class is a great beginner’s course and introduction to large work. Students will learn how to safely use tools associated with the lathe, how to keep the tools sharp and honed and create a basic finished project to take home.

 January 17, 2015                 Finishes and Finishing

4:00pm – 8:00pm

Cost $30.00

Find out how to create the part of your project that makes people say Whoa! Learn about pores and fillers stains and paints and the application of each of these during this class. Create color and learn to blend. We will be working with a variety of materials. Please bring dust masks and safety glasses.

January 24, 2015                 Cherry Plate Class

12:30pm – 4:30pm

Cost: $135.00

 Learn how to turn a beautiful cherry plate on a lathe. This face plate turning class also acts as an introduction to the bowl turning, so it would be great to take this before taking the bowl classes.  Students will learn how to use the lathe to make a plate or two with details.

January 31, 2015                 Basic Bowl Turning

09:00am – 2:00pm

Cost: $135

 Learn to turn a small bowl on the lathe. Students will see how a bowl is made from a tree branch/trunk. And then they will create a bowl. We will discuss bark and occlusions and how to deal with various forms of abnormalities in wood.

February 7-8, 2015              Segmented Bowl Turning

12:00pm – 5:00pm

Cost: $180.00

This two day course will result in a beauty of a bowl.  The first day is all set up and jig making, leaving the second day for turning. Students will use a variety of woods, learn about angles and squaring up.

March 7-8, 2015                   Build a dresser

9:00am-5:00pm both days

Cost: $400.00

 Learn about furniture building and take a class to build yourself an oak dresser.  We will discuss various joinery styles and learn about raised panels versus inset panels.  This is a two day course and will yield a wonderful piece of furniture for students to take home.

March 21, 2015                    Finials and Miniatures

9:00am – 1:00pm

Cost: $135

 Students will learn to turn small items and use patience to turn finials and miniature vases, boxes and other sundry items.  We will discuss and demonstrate texture as well and how to incorporate that into a small project.
